Starlight Productions Helps With Star Wars Theme

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

keina-and-tkOn March 28, Starlight Productions’ Marty Wisher headed down to Naples to assist Michael Bey and MB3 Productions with a Star Wars themed birthday party at King Richards Family Fun Park.

Marty transformed into the Twi-Lek Dark Jedi, Keina, from Ryloth.  Michael Bey himself was there, along with his son Stephen, as a Jedi Master and his padawan apprentice.  The group was topped off with Chaz, a dead-ringer for the animated Mace Windu.

Great fun was had by all.  Please take a moment to check out the pictures of the event!

The Final Shots

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

light_031Wow, what a busy week.

We finished the last of the principal photography for Light earlier this week at a really nice locally-owned pizza parlor I Rigazzi Pizza on Hancock Bridge.  Christian and Danny were excellent as usual.  UFTA President Al Quinn was perfect as the grumpy, Italian Pizza Parlor owner – some fine acting there.  And we had the opportunity to bring Christian and Danny’s real life mothers, Angie and Susan into the background, along with our good friend, Deborah Ford, who was nice enough to let us borrow her camera for the shots below. (with a couple of extra shots from Sue’s phone)  And they even let us eat the pizza!

Now we shift gears into promotion and post-production.  We will be putting the final touches on Marty’s favorite, the one character not yet seen on film, then some second unit work and editing, editing, editing.  Marty’s already working on ideas for the sequel.  We’ll keep everyone updated on the progress of promoting the film as things happen.

Meanwhile, we’re putting the finishing touches on our project for Cape Movie Magic.  Stop by this free concert with local high schools and the Gulf Coast Symphony, playing for the first time in Cape Coral, February 28th, from 11am on at Cultural Park, near City Hall.  Stop by, listen to the music and get your picture taken with one of our movie impersonators:

  • Indiana Jones
  • Queen Amidala
  • Captain Jack Sparrow
  • Eragon
  • Willy Wonka
  • Star Wars Stormtrooper
  • Galadriel, from Lord of the Rings

We’ve also heard rumors that some of the fine men of the Fighting 501st will be joining us for the event.

And we have a second date set for our Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre at the Santa Barbara Clubhouse.  Mark your calendars for March 21, when we perform “Clubhouse Murders.”  More details to come.

In the meantime, enjoy the photos of our fun at I Rigazzi.

Starlight Stars on Stage

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

We’re still hard at work shooting and editing Light, but we’re also keeping busy on the stages of Southwest Florida.

macbethmed1Sean Genther, who plays Lucas’ father Blake in Light, is currently appearing on stage at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers (the old Post Office/Federal Building on First Street) in a modern retelling of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and does a fantastic job playing both Ross and Caithness.  The show runs Jan 7,8,9,10,14,15, 16 , & 17.  Tickets are only $20.00 and can be obtained by calling the Center at 239-337-1933, or visiting their website,  www.sbdac.com.

Meanwhile, Starlight Productions is doing their part to bring more culture into Cape Coral.  On January 24th, Paul Rose, Teresa Cobb & Marty Wisher will join John Nicolette, Kaylee Ann Wisher and Light star Keegan Shayne in presenting the hilarious murder mystery, “A Death in the Family,” written by Marty Wisher at the Santa Barbara Clubhouse Sports Grill & Bar in an effort to bring dinner theatre to the city.  Tickets are only $50.00 per person for dinner and the show, and can be purchased from the Clubhouse, 2114 Santa Barbara Blvd, near Cape Coral High School, 239-574-7050.  Their website is www.clubhousesportsgrill.com.

movie-poster1smAnd coming up in February, Starlight is one of the main sponsors for the First Annual Cape Movie Magic, presented by the Gulf Coast Symphony & the Southwest Florida Business Alliance – the first time the symphony has played in the Cape.  The free concert featuring music from Lord of the Rings, Schindler’s List, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones & Pirates of the Caribbean, will be held at the Cultural Park complex, on Cultural Park Boulevard, near City Hall will start at 5pm.  However, the events start at 11am, with Food, Family Fun, Games, and Characters from the movies, courtesy of Starlight Productions.  For a small fee, you can get your picture taken with Indiana Jones, a Stormtrooper, Elfin Queen Galadriel, and Captain Jack Sparrow, among many others.   For more information on the event, check out CapeMovieMagic.com
