Light Premiere A Huge Success!!

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

Thanks to the dozens of people who came out and supported Starlight Productions at the premiere of our first feature film, Light!  It was great to get most of the cast reunited and see the reactions from people all across Southwest Florida as the images played out on screen.  If you were one of the few who missed the premiere, check out the great photos John Fernandez took of the event!

“Light” Gets a Local Premiere!

The time has finally come! We are proud to announce that Light will be coming to a film screen in Fort Myers, on Monday, August 8, 2011.

This past week, Starlight Productions was contacted by Eric Raddatz of the Fort Myers Film Festival about bringing “Light” to the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center as part of the Film Festival’s popular Summer Intellectualization Mondays.

Mark your calendars for Monday, August 8, 2011, at 6:30pm. Writer/Director Marty Wisher will be joined by Cinematographer & Special Effects Guru Tim Gunderman, along with the movie’s stars: Danny Rawley, Christian Kilian, Mitch Jacobs, and Keegan Shayne, as well as most of the cast at this special premiere.

Host Eric Raddatz will introduce the film and moderate the Q&A following the presentation. For more details, check out the invite on Facebook.  We look forward to seeing you on the red carpet!

Prest hits the pool

Prest hits the pool

From Director Marty Wisher: What a blast this weekend has been. We spent two full days filming the teen pool party scene.  The kids were awesome.  The weather was a tad cooler than we’re used to.  But they were troopers about removing their jackets before the cameras started rolling.

Big kudos to Seth Billig (who plays Prest) for his willingness to be “knocked” into the pool (An icy 50-55 degrees).  Of course, we had several takes.  And I think the kids got a kick out of just hanging out after the filming.  Munching, video games, and shooting archery with Ray.

Thanks to Sue Rawley for the majority of the photos – shot in “Sports Mode,” so we got all the action!

It Worked for E.T….

Monday, January 19th, 2009

img_4900From Director Marty Wisher: Today was such a fun day on the set. A bit too cold for us Floridians though (anything under 70 is deemed freezing).

But since we continue today’s scene in a few weeks the actors had to dress for our usually delightful warm weather. They were such pros at adjusting to all the necessary script changes (location change, character change, script change – but that’s show biz!)

Mitch (who plays CD) gave us one of our best bloopers today. The scene opens in the middle of a conversation. The conversation has the characters of Will & Kevin arguing over who is the hottest assistant in Doctor Who (they’ll also reference some other of my faves – Stargate: Atlantis, Primeval, and Lost) Anyway, for those who don’t know Dr. Who (shame on you) the choice is between the characters Rose and Martha.

Well, while rehearsing the scene, Mitch says “Martha. That’s a name for old ladies!”

I slowly removed my sunglasses and stated “You know that Marty is my nickname. Right? Short for Martha…” He went pale. The kids burst into laughter. Mitch buries his head in his arms.

Tim (Director of Photography) pipes up, “You are so not being asked to do the sequel.”

We all look at Tim and realize the camera was on the whole time. Mitch turns beet red and the laughter continues.

Can’t wait to see what happens at the next shoot.

Thanks to Chris Terrill at Oasis High School for allowing us to borrow some school-logo-ed items for the shoot. And thanks to Sue Rawley for the photos.
