Grandpa Henry & Gordo
Starlight Productions was hopping this week!
Things kicked off on Friday, December 4th, as Starlight Productions’ Paul Rose Jr. and John Nicolette performed two back to back Compassionate Christmas FamJam shows as Grandpa Henry and Gordo at Cape Christian Fellowship.

2009 Holiday Cast
Then, on Thursday, December 10th, Jenny Sonneman, Caleb Williams and John Nicolette joined Paul A. Rose Jr, Teresa Cobb & Marty Wisher “on stage” as we entertained potential new residents at Gulf Coast Village with “A Holiday Recipe for Murder,” written by Marty Wisher.
On Friday, December 11th, we spent a few hours celebrating in Perkins at the United Film & Television Artist (UFTA)’s annual Christmas Party, where Starlight Productions’ own Paul Rose Jr. was elected as President of the UFTA organization for the upcoming year. Paul plans to work with the Board to make UFTA an even stronger, more relevant organization for members associated with the Television and Film Arts.
On Saturday, December 12th, Paul Rose Jr. and John Nicolette returned to Cape Christian Fellowship, reprising their FamJam roles and performing four shows back to back at Cape Christian Fellowship that were each followed by food and gifts for needy families and kids – one show was just for special needs kids in Cape Coral.

Bo Peep Entertains
And finally, Saturday evening, the cast of “Holiday Recipe for Murder” was reassembled to perform at a private Christmas party for some of Cape Coral’s prominent citizens.
Please take a moment to enjoy the gallery, which includes many photos of the various events we participated in! (FamJam & Compassion Party photos courtesy of Reverend Dennis Gingerich of Cape Christian Fellowship.)

Paul & Marty host the Awards
Wednesday, June 10th, Starlight Productions‘ own Paul Rose and Marty Wisher were pleased to host a special presentation at the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce monthly business luncheon. The Guest of Honor was the Fort Myers News-Press‘ resident cartoonist Doug MacGregor. Following Doug’s keynote address, Paul & Marty were called up on stage to present a “Lifetime Achievement Award” to Coco the Palm Tree, mascot for the new website What’s Up Cape Coral, co-sponsored by the Chamber.

Fighting for Attention
Paul & Marty spoofed themselves as ego-driven actors, fighting for the spotlight as they showed clips from the various films that Coco had been a part of, including The Matrix, Titanic, Star Wars and Casablanca. The whole presentation was the brainchild of Brent Saitta of Saitta Productions, who wrote and edited the special clips of an animated Coco into the various films. Chamber member Jason Barrett from Da Bomb Entertainment provided the lights and sound system, and Paul Rose scripted the shanigans for the Starlight players. We’ll be posting a link to the video shot of the event as soon as its available.

Tim Ullio & Caleb Williams
Two of the teenage actors we worked with on the film Light appeared this past weekend on their high school stage. The boys appeared in Honk, a musical based on the story of the Ugly Duckling, at North Fort Myers High School Center for Media & Arts. Caleb Williams, who also starred as Jedi-in-training Grill in Grill’s War, played the father of the unfortunate duckling, Drake, and Tim Ullio, one of our teen bad guys from Light was in just about every scene as part of the chorus. The musical was very funny and the kids did an awesome job of singing a variety of musical numbers. A lot of talent for a high school. We can’t wait to see what they do next!

Well, we’re just 24 hours away from taking the “stage” at the Santa Barbara Clubhouse Grill & Bar in Cape Coral for the premiere performance of “Clubhouse Murders” interactive comedy murder mystery dinner theatre show. The Fort Myers News-Press Gulf Coasting was kind enough to publicize the event for us. The cost is only $40.00 per person for dinner and the show and there are still some tables available. Call 239-574-7050 for reservations or directions to the show.
And our own Marty Wisher was interviewed for the online newspaper, The Examiner, about “Light,” Starlight Productions, and her work as an actor. Check out the article, along with a few others about acting in Southwest Florida from former United Film & Television Artists President Deb Ford.

A little worried here...
Fresh on the heels of their success at the Cape Movie Magic Event, Starlight Productions returns to the Santa Barbara Clubhouse Sports Grill & Bar for another fun evening of interactive humorous murder mystery.
On March 21, 2009, Starlight Productions presents their original humorous murder mystery show, “The Clubhouse Murder,” for the patrons of the Santa Barbara Clubhouse.
How far would you go to get what you want? For money, fame and love, they’ll cheat, lie and manipulate. If the clubhouse manager holds the keys to make any of their dreams come true, which one of our skillful suspects is willing to risk it all to get what they want? As the twists and turns mix with laughter and surprises, can you figure out whodunit before another unwitting accomplice is done in?
Join us at the Santa Barbara Clubhouse Grill & Bar on March 21st at 6:30pm. They’ve lowered the price this month to $40.00 per person. The Clubhouse is at 2114 Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, FL, near Cape High. Call 239-574-7050 for reservations and directions.

We’re still hard at work shooting and editing Light, but we’re also keeping busy on the stages of Southwest Florida.
Sean Genther, who plays Lucas’ father Blake in Light, is currently appearing on stage at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers (the old Post Office/Federal Building on First Street) in a modern retelling of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and does a fantastic job playing both Ross and Caithness. The show runs Jan 7,8,9,10,14,15, 16 , & 17. Tickets are only $20.00 and can be obtained by calling the Center at 239-337-1933, or visiting their website, www.sbdac.com.
Meanwhile, Starlight Productions is doing their part to bring more culture into Cape Coral. On January 24th, Paul Rose, Teresa Cobb & Marty Wisher will join John Nicolette, Kaylee Ann Wisher and Light star Keegan Shayne in presenting the hilarious murder mystery, “A Death in the Family,” written by Marty Wisher at the Santa Barbara Clubhouse Sports Grill & Bar in an effort to bring dinner theatre to the city. Tickets are only $50.00 per person for dinner and the show, and can be purchased from the Clubhouse, 2114 Santa Barbara Blvd, near Cape Coral High School, 239-574-7050. Their website is www.clubhousesportsgrill.com.
